About Lil’ Sluggers

Spring Season Begins February 2, 2021.
Child development program created to introduce children ages 2-7 to the game of baseball. Lil Sluggers classes develop important baseball skills such as throwing, fielding, hitting, and base running. Developmentally appropriate equipment and games are used to teach your child the game of baseball in a fun, exciting, and positive environment!


LSC Advanced Baseball Classes

Spring Season Begins February 19, 2021.
ALL NEW LSC Advanced Baseball Classes  focus on player development for kids ages 7 to 8 years old.Classes are taylor-made for the advanced young player looking for an edge on their training. Low class ratios, personalized coaching and a focus on FUN!

LSC Baseball League

  • Players must be enrolled in current Lil Sluggers classes
  • Additional $108 for 9 game season
  • Games on Sunday afternoons (1 hour / 4 innings)
  • Coach-pitch or T-ball (depending on age and ability)
  • Coaches on the field (one coach pitching/instructing player at bat / one coach at first base instructing fielders)
  • Rubber center synthetic cover baseballs

  • No equipment is necessary for 2 and 3 year olds.
  • For 4 and 5 year olds baseball gloves are recommended.

AVAILABLE CLASSES

Mascots/ Minors

2 - 3 Years

Parent / Child Class

Designed to have the children begin their baseball experience in a fun environment that also introduces simple basics of the game.

The Mascot/ Minor is an introduction to social skills such as following simple instructions and taking turns.

  • Simple base running and base recognition.
  • Hitting; holding the bat properly, focusing on making contact with the ball off of a tee.
  • Throwing in an overhand motion.
  • Fitness and agility and improved hand/eye coordination.

Hall of Famers

5 - 7 Years

The Hall of Famers curriculum expands on the skills learned in the 3 year old program, with slightly more technical instruction and game situations

Proper base running, sliding techniques, fitness and agility. As well as hitting, focusing on proper stance, level swing, and follow through off the tee.

  • Begin hitting from a pitch by the coach.
  • Throwing: Point, step, and throw with proper motion for distance and accuracy.
  • Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands, staying in front of the ball.
  • Catching pop flies with two hands.
  • Learning various offensive and defensive game situations.

Majors

3 - 4 Years

Designed to have the children continue their baseball experience in a fun environment that also reinforces the fundamentals of the game.

Advancement of social skills such as following instructions, taking turns, teamwork and improved hand/eye coordination.

  • Simple base running and base recognition, including hitting, focusing on proper stance and level swing to make contact with the ball off the tee.
  • Throwing: Point, step, and throw with proper motion and aim.
  • Fielding, with emphasis on using two hands, staying in front of the ball.
  • Understanding straightforward game situations, such as throwing a player out.

LSC Advanced Baseball

7 - 8 Years

The LSC Advanced Baseball curriculum is designed to have the children continue improving their fundamentals skills while preparing them for their next level of participation, organized tee-ball.

Teaching the Five steps of hitting with focus on proper form including full swing and hip rotation. Including base recognition and proper base running techniques.

  • Correct throwing mechanics emphasizing accuracy and distance.
  • Proper fielding technique, keeping their body in front of the ball.
  • Using the baseball glove for fielding of line drives and pop fly catches.
  • Focus on: Teamwork, Game situations, fitness and agility.
